As threatened, a new and improved Bronte Photo essay taken with an Olympus OM-1 and Ilford FP4 125 film on a really cold day like -11 before the windchill is factored in. These buildings will be razed come spring time, I used to bike down here for ice cream cones when I was a teen and early twenties. Architecturally the buildings are nothing special but having personal landmarks wiped out with more regularlity is disconcerting. In Ontario there are a lot of buildings worthy of histroical designation that are just being torn down by developers because of the value of the land. What replaces the architectural treasures is downright criminal in architectural mediocraty. This is a subject for a further photo eassy the neighbouhood of Forest Hill in Toronto is having this problem losing their Arts and Crafts mansions for something a lot more tacky. Please stay tuned for further images.
